Gunshots Heard on Arabkir Street: Shell Casings and Blood-Like Traces Found

On August 9, gunshots were reported in Yerevan. At approximately 01:20 AM, the Arabkir division of the police received a call regarding gunfire on Riga Street.

According to shamshyan.com, an operational group led by the head of the Arabkir police department, Armen Vatyan, arrived at the scene. Also present were Arthur Zakaryan, the deputy head of Yerevan police, and Hovik Aristakessian, head of the criminal investigation division.

Police determined that the gunfire occurred not on Riga Street, but on Arabkir Street 19. Several shell casings and traces resembling blood were discovered at the scene.

An investigative group led by Hambardzum Petrosyan, head of the Arabkir investigative division of Armenia's Investigative Committee, and senior investigator Tigran Mirzoyan also worked at the scene. Following the findings, a criminal case was initiated under Articles 258 (Part 4) and 235 (Part 1) of the Armenian Criminal Code.

Authorities are investigating whether any injured individuals have sought treatment at local hospitals as a result of the incident.
