Edmon Marukyan's Driver Detained
On August 8, a resident of Loreh region, 35-year-old Hamlet Zaroyan, was detained by officers of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Malatia police. According to SHAMSHYAN.com, he is the driver of Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the "Enlightened Armenia" faction in the National Assembly.
The incident occurred when Zaroyan, driving a Toyota with license plate 008 HH 01, encountered a failure with a towing vehicle driven by 42-year-old Samvel Harutyunyan from Aragatsotn region. Zaroyan reportedly demanded the towing vehicle give way but was met with a refusal due to technical issues. Subsequently, he verbally abused Harutyunyan, after which Zaroyan exited his car and physically attacked the driver of the towing vehicle, prompting a brawl between the two.
The Malatia police are currently preparing materials regarding the incident. According to reports, Zaroyan has denied the accusations, claiming that the towing vehicle's driver initiated the confrontation. However, Malatia police have obtained recordings from several cameras at the scene, which contradict Zaroyan's statements.
