Investigative Committee to Examine How Ruben Hayrapetyan Ran for Parliament While Being a Citizen of Another Country

Gor Abrahamyan, an advisor to the Attorney General of Armenia, wrote on his Facebook page: "Considering the public interest, I inform you that, based on the directive of the Attorney General Artur Davtyan, the relevant publications in the media regarding the legality of Ruben Hayrapetyan, who is wanted and holds citizenship of another country, running as a candidate for the National Assembly have been sent to the Investigative Committee of Armenia. The circumstances surrounding this issue will be subject to discussion within the framework of the criminal case being examined there, with the aim of determining the presence of characteristics of criminal acts as defined by the Criminal Code of Armenia. The Prosecutor's Office will seek to provide an appropriate legal assessment based on the results obtained from the investigation."
