Robert Kocharyan's Lawyer Requested to Postpone Court Hearing, But Court Refused

Robert Kocharyan's lawyer Aram Vardevanyan requested to postpone today's court hearing. This was reported by Kocharyan's legal team.

The lawyer explained that the request to postpone is needed to engage an appraiser to evaluate the property that has been seized by the court and to organize the property assessment. The information obtained from the evaluation should be presented at the next court session.

Erik Aleksanyan, the lawyer for Armen Gevorgyan, supported the new request. In turn, prosecutor Gevorg Baghdasaryan objected, noting that the reasoning behind the motion is baseless.

Vardevanyan responded that the court could have simply annulled the investigator's illegal decision today but did not do so, delaying the resolution of the motion until a significant circumstance emerges during the trial. That significant circumstance is the property evaluation, for which time is needed to organize.

The judge disagreed with the defense attorney, stating that the defense had the opportunity to evaluate the property but took a different stance. At the same time, Judge Danibekyan noted that the defenders are not limited in any way to organize the property assessment process.
