Court Delays Motion to Lift Property Seizures of Robert Kocharyan and Former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan

The Court of General Jurisdiction in Yerevan, presided over by Judge Anna Danibekyan, has postponed the motions to lift property seizures placed on the assets of second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan.

Judge Danibekyan stated that she respects the defense's decision not to present documents regarding the value of the assets. However, she noted that "the court cannot find it possible to resolve the submitted motions without determining the corresponding value of the property," she said.

The judge indicated that the court will address this issue during the trial, after examining the relevant materials regarding the seized assets.

It is noteworthy that Robert Kocharyan, who is accused of overthrowing Armenia's constitutional order and receiving bribes on a large scale, along with former Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, former Secretary General of the CSTO Yuri Khachaturov, and former Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan, are defendants in the March 1 case. They are accused of overthrowing the constitutional order, alongside former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan, who is accused of assisting in the overthrow of Armenia's constitutional order, receiving bribes on a large scale, and legalizing property obtained through criminal means.
