Horrific murder in Yerevan: man decapitates sister and hides head in plastic bag
On August 1, a horrific murder occurred in Yerevan. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, local police officers, while leaving for service in front of the Erebuni Police Department, noticed a man holding a plastic bag. The bag had blood-like stains on it, prompting the officers to approach the individual and inquire about the presence of blood on the bag and what he was carrying.
Suspicious of the man, the police opened the plastic bag and discovered a female head inside. The officers immediately subdued the man and took him into custody at the Erebuni Police Department. It turned out that the suspect is 58-year-old Vahram M. from the Tavush region, who had decapitated his 68-year-old sister, Melanya M., with a knife in one of the houses on Nor Arech 11 street.
A criminal case has been initiated under part 1 of article 104 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. A forensic doctor and experts from the police forensic department are also working at the scene. Police and investigators have found the knife used in the crime, which has been confiscated based on the investigator's decision, and several examinations have been ordered, including a forensic medical examination of the body. Just a moment ago, the suspect was brought to the crime scene, and an investigation involving the head of the investigative group is currently underway.
