One of the Four Arrested in Zartonq Community Incident is the Deputy Head
On July 27, an incident took place in the Zartonq community, resulting in the arrest of four individuals, including the community's Deputy Head, Suren Poghosyan. This was confirmed by the community head, Samvel Aghajanyan, in an interview with NEWS.am.
"Mr. Poghosyan's relative, Hovhannes Hovsepyan, and Zarzand Baghchagulyan have also been arrested," Aghajanyan noted, adding that the latter two are supporters of the former village head.
The four residents of Zartonq have been detained for 72 hours, with their period of detention set to expire tomorrow.
"The lawyers are handling the case,” the community head stated.
He added that the situation in the community is currently calm. It is worth recalling that on July 27, a confrontation occurred involving the former head of the community, his associates, current deputy head Suren Poghosyan, and his supporters.
Suren Poghosyan mentioned in an interview that he and his allies were admitted to the hospital with various injuries but were later discharged.
A criminal case has been initiated at the RA Police based on Article 258 (hooliganism) of the RA Criminal Code, with the preliminary investigation being carried out by the Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
As a result of investigative and procedural actions, as well as operational intelligence measures, four residents of Zartonq village have been arrested. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
