31-Year-Old Woman Gives Birth in Yerevan, Places Baby in Plastic Bag and Disposes of It, Arrested

On July 29, a horrific incident took place in Yerevan. At around 22:40, the police received a report from the Kanaker-Zeitun Medical Center stating that a woman had been admitted with a diagnosis of "uterine hemorrhage," according to Shamshyan.com.

According to the website, police and investigators who arrived at the hospital established that the individual admitted was 31-year-old Armine H., a resident of Yerevan. She had given birth at her workplace around 16:00 the same day and subsequently packaged the baby in a plastic bag before disposing of it in a trash container.

According to G. Shamshyan, a criminal case has been opened based on the determination made by the senior investigator Sargis, under Article 104, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (murder), and Armine H. has been arrested.
