Investigation Concluded into Stabbing Incident at "Zatik Children's Support Center"
The investigation into the case of an 18-year-old former student of the "Zatik Children's Support Center" stabbing a current student has been concluded, according to the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
According to gathered evidence, on May 1, 2020, around 6:00 PM, the former student was in the corridor of the second floor of the organization and wanted to talk to a current student. However, the latter, who was in the dormitory and avoiding the conversation, asked one of the center's students to convey that he was, supposedly, asleep.
The 18-year-old took offense at receiving false information about avoiding the conversation and called the current student out of the dormitory, first reprimanding him in the corridor and then deliberately striking him on the face with his fist. Following that, intending to cause bodily harm, he used a folding knife to stab the current student several times in various parts of his body, inflicting life-threatening injuries.
Based on sufficient evidence, criminal charges were brought against the 18-year-old under Article 112, Part 2, Point 9 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (intentional infliction of serious bodily harm). He was remanded in custody. The investigation is completed, and the criminal case has been forwarded to the court with an indictment.
