Azerbaijan Used Prohibited Shells Against Civilian Population

Specialists from the 'Humanitarian Demining and Expertise Center' continue their research work in the villages of Chinari and Chorratan in the Tavush region. On July 24, as a result of their work, a 122 mm caliber cluster munition was discovered in Chinari, while another shell was found in Chorratan.

Moreover, the shell found in Chorratan contains shrapnel-explosive munitions, which are prohibited for use against civilian populations according to international conventions. The unexploded ordnance has been transported to a safe location and destroyed.
