Armed Citizens Involved in Altercation Near Supermarket; 25-Year-Old Stabs Two Individuals

On July 21, around 20:20, the operational management center of the Yerevan police received four emergency calls within minutes. The reports indicated that armed citizens were arguing near the supermarket on Kajaznuni Street.

Shortly thereafter, the police also received calls from hospitals. A 55-year-old man was transported to the hospital with a stab wound to the back, while an 86-year-old man was transferred to another hospital in the capital with a penetrating stab wound to the chest.

Minutes after the first emergency call, an operational group from the Central Division of the Police was already on the scene. Through swift operational and investigative measures, it was established that the victims sustained their injuries during an argument that took place in the yard of building eight on Kajaznuni Street at 20:15.

As a result of efficient and timely actions by the police, the identity of the man who stabbed the victims was determined; he was a 25-year-old resident of Yerevan. At 21:20, he was located on Kriyo Street and taken into custody along with another young man of the same age.

During the arrest, police discovered the knife used in the crime. A criminal case has been initiated. The 25-year-old has been arrested, and an investigation is underway.
