A Young Man Involved in Gavarr Shooting Dies in Car Accident in Gegharkunik
The young man who died in a car accident in the Gegharkunik region was Narek Hovhannisyan, accused in the Gavarr shooting and hospital assault case, reports Armlur.am.
Recall that gunshots were fired near Gavarr University on April 28 at around 17:40. As a result, two people died, and four others were transferred to Gavarr hospital with injuries. Following the incident, a group of citizens entered the hospital, cut the throats of those relocated due to the shooting, and vandalized the premises. This led to the arrest of several young people, including Narek Hovhannisyan.
Narek Hovhannisyan remained in custody for two months. Around 287 citizens of the Noratus community signed a petition calling for his detention not to be extended and for his release, and on June 29, he was freed from the courtroom. A month later, he died in an accident. Is this a coincidence or a premeditated car crash? Investigations will reveal.
Earlier, it was reported that a tragic car accident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. At around 07:40, the crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a call that a BMW vehicle had overturned in a ravine off the roadway at the 79 km mark of the Yerevan-Sevan highway. While senior investigator Bakur Saribekyan from the same squad was inspecting the scene, rescuers and police found the body of a man, approximately 30 years old, about 60 meters away from the overturned BMW. The deceased man was none other than Narek Hovhannisyan.
