VIDEO: Ashot Bleyan and Sculptor Vigen Avetis Taken into Police Custody

"You are arrested." Ashot Bleyan and sculptor Vigen Avetis have been taken into custody by the Shengavit police.

Sculptor Vigen Avetis announced on his Facebook page that he and other teachers from the Mkhitar Sebastatsi educational complex were arrested for opposing the controversial fencing by the mayor and district captain.

It was revealed that the director of the educational complex, Ashot Bleyan, was also taken into custody near the complex, where the school's teachers had gathered in protest.

The issue at hand is that kindergarten No. 93, located next to the Mkhitar Sebastatsi educational complex, plans to build a fence and block the path from the North School to the main school building. Bleyan and other teachers had sat down in that area to protest this action.

Before being taken into custody, Bleyan told the police, "It is not the owner who has blocked our educational complex's path, but the employees of the kindergarten. Now we tell the police to explain to the people that the road cannot be blocked, and instead of explaining this to them, you are telling us to leave!"

A police representative stated that the gathering must be stopped, to which Bleyan responded, "But what have I violated? I should ask you where I can sit?"

One of the police officers said, "You are arrested for not following the legal demands of the police."
