Video: 87-Year-Old Mother Murdered with an Axe, Body Dismembered and Burned

On July 19, the Bazum police department received information that a son had murdered his mother in one of the apartments in building number 6 of the Nersisyan neighborhood in Vanadzor. The dispatched investigative group discovered blood-like traces in various parts of the apartment.

Through urgent measures, it was determined that the 87-year-old homeowner had been killed by her 58-year-old son, who had previously been sentenced to 11 years and 6 months in prison for charges of murder, hooliganism, and illegal possession of weapons. He was released from incarceration in 2018.

The man informed the police that two days prior, he had killed his mother with an axe, subsequently dismembered the body with a knife, placed the remains in a polyethylene bag, thrown it in a dumpster, and burned it.

A criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of murder. As a result of operational and investigative measures, burned body parts of the elderly woman were found in one of the neighborhood's trash bins. The weapon used in the crime, the axe, has been discovered. Expert examinations have been scheduled. The man has been arrested, and the preliminary investigation of the initiated criminal case is ongoing.
