Mary Izmirlian Children's Home Overcomes Coronavirus
The children and staff at the "Yerevan Mary Izmirlian Children's Home" have overcome the coronavirus infection. It is noteworthy that on June 8, 2020, 13 cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in the institution, including 4 staff members and 9 children. The treatment and care of the infected children and staff were immediately taken over by the "Arabkir" Medical Complex – Institute of Child and Adolescent Health, considering that the home cares for children with health issues or disabilities.
In this situation, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and specialists from the "Arabkir" Medical Center received significant support from the "Izmirlian" Foundation, which provided the necessary protective equipment for doctors and several disinfectants and preventive measures.
As part of the program for providing medical and preventive services related to COVID-19 at the Mary Izmirlian Children's Home, the "Izmirlian Foundation" has provided assistance to a total of 102 children and 123 staff members. The families of the institution's staff are also indirect beneficiaries of the program.
It should be noted that as a result of the joint efforts of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the "Arabkir" Medical Center, and the "Izmirlian Foundation", there are no longer any infections in the children's home.
