A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the investigation into the causes of the fire that broke out at the Saint Peter and Saint Paul Cathedral in Nantes, France. According to Interfax, the arrested individual had been working as a volunteer at the cathedral.
On the eve of the fire, he was supposed to lock the building's entrance but preliminary reports suggest that he mistakenly failed to do so.
It is noteworthy that on July 18, a major fire broke out in one of France's largest Gothic cathedrals, resulting in the destruction of historical artifacts, damage to the organ, and the eastern facade's stained glass windows.
