Ukrainian Armenians' Union Responds to Ukraine's Foreign Ministry's Pro-Azerbaijani Statement

In Ukraine, critical statements regarding the country's Foreign Ministry's pro-Azerbaijani stance continue to emerge, reports AnalitikaUA.net. Yesterday, the Foreign Ministry's announcement was sharply criticized by two members of Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada, while the Union of Armenians of Ukraine described the Foreign Ministry's expressions regarding the recent events at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border as unfounded and incomprehensible.

Pointing to the localization of the conflict and Azerbaijan's actions, the organization noted that the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is unjustifiably focusing on the preservation of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity by stating that there are no territorial claims from Armenia.

The message from the Union of Armenians of Ukraine indicates that Armenian borders are under threat, as the initial cause of the conflict is the illegal invasion of Armenian land by Azerbaijani military forces. “Armenia's goal is not to present territorial claims against its neighbor but to protect its citizens and lands. By supporting one side's position, Ukraine not only fails to contribute to the peaceful resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict but also tarnishes its diplomatic relations with the Republic of Armenia. Moreover, such baseless statements can foster interethnic conflicts within the country. It is worth noting that a significant Armenian diaspora resides in Ukraine, which is also interested in stable relations in the country.”

Furthermore, it is essential to highlight that none of the countries representing the Minsk Group, which aims to promote a peaceful resolution of the conflict, has expressed support for the Azerbaijani side except for Turkey. This underscores the ambiguity of the situation, which prevents civilized countries from adopting a clear stance on the issue.

Despite the brief period following the commencement of military operations, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has already taken a position in support of one side of the conflict, demonstrating a superficial examination and unprofessional approach to this critical matter. The whole world, without jumping to conclusions, calls for a peaceful resolution of the situation and does not support either side.

Summarizing the arguments presented, the Union of Armenians of Ukraine condemns the Foreign Ministry's stance regarding the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict and calls on the ministry to provide a fair and objective assessment of the mentioned events.

It should be recalled that the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry had previously voiced support for the preservation of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, despite the recent escalation initiated by Azerbaijan itself, beyond the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.
