Edmon Marukyan Appeals to Russian Law Enforcement Authorities
As you may know, the Azerbaijani owners of the 'Food City' shopping center in Moscow have prohibited the sale of Armenian apricots on their premises. This was reported by the leader of the LHK parliamentary faction, Edmon Marukyan, on his Facebook page.
He specifically noted, ‘This act based on national hatred grossly violates Article 29, Part 2 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation and simultaneously constitutes a crime as envisaged by Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Civil and labor relations should not be burdened by national affiliation. I call on the Russian law enforcement authorities to take appropriate measures against such a gross violation of Russian legislation; the law must be equal for everyone.’
I express my gratitude to our compatriots residing in Russia for supporting our fellow citizens engaged in the import of apricots. Our spirit is unbreakable. A detailed letter regarding this incident will be sent to the Russian side through the appropriate channels on Monday.
