Armenian Assembly of America Urges the U.S. to Cut Military Funding to Azerbaijan
The Armenian Assembly of America has urged the United States administration to sharply change its policy in light of Azerbaijan's attacks against Armenia in a letter addressed to the U.S. President.
According to Armenpress, assembly co-chairs Anthony Barsamian and Van Grigoryan mentioned in the letter, "The ongoing Azerbaijani attacks on Christian Armenia, which began on July 12 with active support and encouragement from Turkey, should signify the necessity for a drastic change in the administration's policy."
The assembly emphasized the need for stronger monitoring and investigative mechanisms following the 2016 Four-Day War to assist in maintaining the ceasefire. However, only Azerbaijan has blocked these measures to allow its lobbyists and government to attempt to cover up more atrocities.
The co-chairs also highlighted U.S. military assistance to Azerbaijan, stressing that this support has evidently contributed to violations of the ceasefire by Aliyev's regime and has cost innocent lives. They called for the administration to immediately cut all military funding provided to Azerbaijan and restore military aid equality with Armenia.
Additionally, the co-chairs urged the President to send a clear public message to Turkey as well.
