The adversary becomes active in one case and calms down in the next; this is common for the Azerbaijanis. This was stated today, on July 17, by Artur Hovhannisyan, the deputy head of the Vazgen Sargsyan Military University and a military expert, during a press conference while answering a question about the adversary's tactical pauses.

“From a military perspective, this is quite common, especially in the case of Azerbaijanis. They can create the impression that there is a ceasefire, but during that time they prepare for actions of a different nature, or, why not, blunt our vigilance in another area, or approach the situation with another scenario. There is nothing new in that,” said Hovhannisyan.

Hovhannisyan also touched upon the current operational situation at the border: “The frontline has been relatively calm; there have been few shots, and the shots were only from small arms. Today, I visited one of the military units; the fighting spirit of the troops and command is high, and they fully control the situation. We see the adversary's desire for all sorts of provocations, and if any provocation occurs, they will receive a fitting response.”
