Lavrov Discusses Situation on Armenia-Azerbaijan Border with Newly Appointed Azerbaijani Foreign Minister
The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed the situation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border during a telephone conversation with Azerbaijan's newly appointed Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, as reported by Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, according to ria.ru.
"During the telephone conversation, current issues of bilateral relations and regional security were discussed, as well as the situation at the Azerbaijani-Armenian border," the Russian Foreign Ministry's statement said.
The statement also noted that Sergey Lavrov congratulated Jeyhun Bayramov on his appointment to the responsible state position. During the conversation, both sides reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further develop the strategic partnership between Russia and Azerbaijan.
It was mentioned that the ministers agreed to continue close cooperation on a range of issues, including collaboration on the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic and its consequences.
