Azerbaijani Armed Forces Leadership Feels the Pain of Their Positional Losses: Artzruni Hovhannisyan
Former spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense and head of the command-staff faculty at the Vazgen Sargsyan Military University, Artzruni Hovhannisyan, wrote on his Facebook page: “It seems that in this internal political situation, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces leadership is feeling the pain of their losses very acutely. This is about positional losses; they certainly don’t care about human losses.”
Recall that Azerbaijani servicemen attempted to breach the state border of Armenia in the Tavush direction on July 12. After a warning from the Armenian side, the Azerbaijani servicemen left their “UAZ” brand vehicle and returned to their positions. Shortly thereafter, at 1:45 PM, the Azerbaijani armed forces attempted again to capture an Armenian military position, using artillery fire; however, they were suppressed by the Armenian side and were forced to retreat, suffering losses in the process.
The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reported that as a result of the incident on July 12 at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, two Azerbaijani servicemen were killed and another five were injured.
