BHK's Call to Authorities
The political council of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) strongly condemns the political persecution of BHK president Gagik Tsarukyan and party officials, along with the attempts at revenge using cheap methods by the authorities.
It is evident that all of this began following Gagik Tsarukyan's public speech on June 5, where he pointed out the government's failures and collapses in specific sectors. The disgraceful socio-economic indicators, the state of hundreds of thousands of citizens in the grip of banking "captivity", entire sectors of the economy on the brink of collapse, a colossal rise in unemployment, the failure to combat the pandemic, and intolerable tensions in relations with strategic allies are clear issues.
After voicing these problems and demanding the total resignation of the government, a series of political persecutions against representatives of the Prosperous Armenia Party was unleashed by the authorities. Lacking political counterarguments, the authorities crossed all moral red lines and today openly violate human rights and the inviolability of the personal life of individuals and lawmakers.
As a member of the Council of Europe and various international European organizations, the Armenian authorities grossly interfere with the work of lawmakers and political figures, attempting to silence them by conducting political vendettas and releasing personal recordings, which is a gross violation of the law and numerous international conventions.
We note that never in the history of independent Armenia have such "rules of the game" existed, and even in cases of politically complicated relations, personal life, family, and children have always been untouchable topics. Instead of addressing the critically important social issues facing the country and citizens during these difficult times, the authorities have directed all their resources and the fake industry, on which enormous state funds are spent, towards organizing unethical political vendettas against BHK's president and deputy members, without encountering any moral barriers, including those regarding family and personal life.
The BHK political council urges the authorities to refrain from hooligan actions. We also appeal to international organizations and human rights organizations not to remain indifferent to this immoral campaign unleashed by the government against the MPs and political figures of the Republic of Armenia, as the path chosen by the authorities is the shortest route to tyranny.
The Prosperous Armenia Party calls on all political and public circles, civil society, and conscious society: This is not a matter of political views; it has become an issue of dignity and the inviolability of personal life. Raise your voices in your indignation and together let us reject the despicable attempts to discredit individuals and families.
