Emergency State in Armenia to be Extended for Another Month, Says Nikol Pashinyan
The emergency state that is set to end on July 13 will be prolonged for another month. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a press briefing following a meeting of the Cabinet.
“Of course, we understand that we cannot indefinitely extend the emergency situation. If things continue this way, we will at least extend it once now,” he said.
Pashinyan also noted that during this time, the Armenian government will aim to improve the legislation regarding the emergency state so that after lifting the emergency regime, the government would have certain tools to implement anti-epidemic policies.
“Yes, we are discussing that we cannot extend the emergency regime indefinitely. It is a problem for all of us, but on the other hand, we cannot ignore the epidemic situation,” the Prime Minister added.
