New Regulations for Tourists in Georgia

The Ministry of Health of Georgia has published new regulations related to coronavirus, which must be followed by visitors to coastal resorts and local business operators. This is reported by Aliq.ge.

The changes concern the leadership of resorts, as well as those renting out umbrellas, sun loungers, scooters, and water bikes.

Some requirements are also outlined for all vacationers in general, mainly to frequently wash and disinfect hands, cover the mouth and nose when coughing, and maintain social distancing.

Business operators must adhere to the following rules:

  • Information related to COVID-19 prevention must be posted in visible areas.
  • It is advisable to draw a special walkway along the beach for pedestrians and to divide the beaches into zones.
  • The coastline should be regularly cleaned of litter using disposable bags, and waste must be thrown in closed bins. The waste collection personnel must wear protective masks or shields and gloves.
  • All beach visitors should maintain a safe distance, except for children under 12 years old.
  • Disinfection of scooters, boats, bicycles, sun loungers, and umbrellas is mandatory after use.
  • Restrooms and showers should be disinfected every 2 hours, using materials approved by the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health of Georgia.
  • Disinfectants should be stored in specially closed cabinets.
  • Disinfecting personnel must wear masks, thick gloves, and gowns, as well as goggles and shields.
