Let’s Try to Clarify a Very Important Question: Arman Abovyan

Deputy of the 'Prosperous Armenia' faction in the National Assembly, Arman Abovyan, wrote on his Facebook page: 'Let’s set aside politics and simply try to clarify a very important question: See, the authorities always shout from every corner, with or without reason, that they have received support from 80 percent of the people. Alright... now let's delve a little deeper and try to understand the real picture of this mandate of trust today. Just general questions, and everyone - without political subtext:

1. Do you agree that the subject of 'History of the Armenian Church' should be reduced in schools? My answer: no.

2. Do you agree that Armenian banks should leave the interest rates and loan conditions unchanged in the current difficult social situation? My answer: no.

3. Do you agree that children in schools or preschools should receive information about sexual life, or be educated according to the theory of sexual education? My answer: no.

4. Do you agree that Armenia should join conventions such as the Lanzarote or Istanbul conventions? My answer: no.

5. Do you agree that public transportation prices should rise in Armenia? My answer: no.

6. Do you agree that laws that guarantee special rights for the LGBTQ+ community or other sexual minorities should be adopted in Armenia? My answer: no.

7. Do you agree that property taxes should increase in Armenia? My answer: no.

8. Do you agree with the fines that have recently been imposed in the country? My answer: no.

9. Do you agree that the solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh issue should be acceptable not only to the Armenian people but also to the Azerbaijanis? My answer: the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue should be acceptable to the Armenian people; the rest does not interest me.

10. Do you agree that the authorities in Armenia should decide which political force will participate in the elections and which will not? My answer: no.'

The answers to these questions will clearly show the real level of trust in the government and people's true attitudes toward the policies pursued by the ruling party.
