Marukyan Appeals to Members of the U.S. Congress

Edmon Marukyan, a member of the 'Enlightened Armenia' faction, has announced on his Facebook page:
“Dear citizens,
I would like to inform you that I have reached out to members of the U.S. Congress regarding the 2021 foreign aid allocation (FY2021 Foreign Aid Bills).
In particular, emphasizing the importance of continuing the de-mining work carried out in Artsakh through the 'HALO Trust' over the years, I have stressed the significance of this work in saving civilian lives in the conflict zone.
These efforts ensure the safety of tens of thousands of individuals in Artsakh. Since 2000, approximately 500 minefields have been cleared in Artsakh.
This work is also of great importance in terms of reinstating peace in the region.
The Armenian-American friendship has proven its strength in defending human rights and democracy, as well as ensuring peace and security. As William Fulbright said, the greatest virtue of a strong legislator is not what he can accomplish, but what he can prevent.”
