Haik Stepanyan and His 'Entourage' Assaulted My Son and His Friend; A Deputy Was Present During the Altercation

They stopped my son on the road, insulted him, assaulted him, and now they want to pin a different issue on my son. There was a member of parliament from the ruling party with them, but he didn't get out to intervene in the fight; he just observed from the car. This was reported to Tert.am by Lyova Baghdasaryan, the father of Gor Baghdasaryan, who participated in the brawl that took place on Tichina Street in the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district.

Recall that, according to Shamshyan.com, an extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan yesterday, June 21. At around 10:40 PM, Haik Stepanyan, a resident of the village of Zovuni in the Kotayk region, called the Yerevan Police's 102 Operational Management Center to report that he had been assaulted by about 40 people on Tichina Street in the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district. Haik Stepanyan is described as a founding member of the 'Guardians of the Revolution' initiative.

“On the road, Haik Stepanyan stopped Gor, they argued over a trivial matter regarding the road. He and his 'entourage' began to beat my son and his friend right there on the street. There was a member of parliament from the ruling party with them; I don't want to disclose his name yet. They were returning from a celebration in the Ashtarak gorge. We are told that no more than 10 people can gather, yet they had over 30 people at their celebration, creating a drunken brawl,” said Gor Baghdasaryan's father.

He denied the information circulating in the media that Haik Stepanyan had been beaten by 40 people, stating that his son was with his friend and that there were still about 5-6 vehicles with people next to Haik Stepanyan. According to him, despite this, his son attempted to rectify the situation, but more insults were hurled, which led to Haik Stepanyan getting beaten.

“He presents himself as a 'Guardian of the Revolution,' but we were the ones who made that revolution. It is thanks to our strength that these people are now in power. I was with the Pashinyans in Kelbajar during the April War,” he described, adding that he is currently in front of the police station, trying to organize the next steps, and afterward he will disclose the name of the deputy present at the incident.
