After the Incident, 'Guardians of the Revolution' Member Hayk Stepanyan Assaulted Again: New Details

"During the beating, sexual insults were directed not only at me but also towards Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. If this was a personal or domestic dispute, what was the intention behind insulting the Prime Minister? I am convinced that this incident was premeditated," said Hayk Stepanyan, a member of the 'Guardians of the Revolution', in an interview with Lurer.com, reflecting on the incident involving him that took place days ago.

On the Yerevan-Ashtarak road, two individuals attempted to deliberately create a dangerous situation, overtaking our vehicle from an improper section of the road while I was driving, forcing our vehicle towards us. After which, I managed to escape the vehicle, causing my son to bump his head against the car door. Once we stopped, two individuals from that car approached us, one of whom was physically well-built. When I asked them why they were behaving this way, one of them responded aggressively. My father, who is over 60, tried to calm them down, to which they retaliated by hitting my father's eye with a fist. A scuffle ensued. Numerous citizens approached us from passing vehicles, presumably noting their presence when they stated that we were in large numbers.

I was surprised by the fact that at that moment, I don’t know from where, one of their associates, who also recognizes me, approached and took my phone number. I find it incomprehensible where he appeared from. From this, I conclude that all of this was pre-planned.

After the incident, Gor (one of the young men who had assaulted Hayk Stepanyan) called me to arrange a meeting and smooth things over. I went alone to the place he mentioned, and after getting out of the car, several dozen people armed with clubs and iron rods attacked and beat me. I barely managed to escape and turned to the police.

Hayk Stepanyan denied the circulated rumors that a governmental deputy was in their vehicle or mediated on his behalf: "I don’t understand what this is about, it was just me in the car with my underage children, my pregnant sister, and my father, while my friend was in the second vehicle. I don't know where this information is coming from; after the incident, I went to the police station and was later taken to the hospital by an ambulance."
