This information was provided by the Information and Public Relations Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
During the pre-trial proceedings, a number of circumstances related to the incident were determined, including the identities of the four individuals who committed the crime.
The investigation revealed that on February 21, 2020, a 23-year-old resident of Yerevan, along with three of his friends, displayed hooliganistic behavior motivated by a desire to showcase their superiority. Disregarding public order and showing blatant disrespect to society, they insulted an employee of one of the local hair salons and his brother without any provocation. Subsequently, the young men, complementing each other's actions, intentionally inflicted multiple blows to various parts of the victims' bodies with their hands and feet, causing moderate injuries that led to lasting impairment of health, and then fled the scene.
Based on the gathered sufficient evidence, the four youths have been charged under Article 258, Part 3, Points 1 and 4 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (hooliganism). As a measure of restraint, a signature not to leave has been imposed on them.
The preliminary investigation has concluded, and the criminal case, with an indictment conclusion, has been sent to the court.
