Criminal Case Launched After Stabbing of Two Young Men in Lenin Street Dispute

The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia is conducting an inquiry into the stabbing incident involving two young men on Lenin Street. This information has been provided by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

On June 15, 2020, at 02:40, a call was received from the 'Astghik' medical center regarding two young men born in 1999 and 2000 who sought medical assistance. One of the individuals was diagnosed with a penetrating stab wound to the left side of the abdominal wall, a non-penetrating stab wound to the neutral organs, and bleeding, while the other had a penetrating stab wound to the left half of the abdomen and external bleeding.

In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 112 (Intentional Infliction of Severe Harm to Health) of the RA Criminal Code. The investigation has revealed that the injuries sustained by the young men occurred between 00:00 and 00:30 on June 15, 2020, during a dispute and brawl involving a group of individuals on Lenin Street in Yerevan.

During the preliminary investigation, several investigative measures have been carried out, including an inspection of the crime scene, where blood-like samples were found and collected. Approximately ten witnesses have been interrogated, and forensic examinations have been appointed. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Investigative actions and operational-search measures are being undertaken to clarify all circumstances of the incident, motives, the identity of the alleged offender(s), the complete circle of individuals involved in the incident, to individualize the actions of each, and to provide a legal assessment.
