Criminal Case Filed for Stabbing a Classmate Sent to Court

The investigation into the criminal case regarding the stabbing of a classmate by a minor has been completed in the Arabkir administrative district of the Yerevan investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee. This was reported by the public relations department of the Investigative Committee.

As a result of the investigative actions carried out during the pre-trial proceedings, a number of circumstances of the incident and the motive have been established.

The investigation revealed that on November 26, 2019, a dispute occurred between peer boys—12th grade students—on the grounds of a remark made regarding noise in the hallway during class time. During this argument, motivated by hooligan impulses, one of the boys deliberately stabbed his classmate in the forearm with a knife.

The boy sustained injuries including damage to the muscles, superficial and deep flexor tendons of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th fingers, as well as arterial bleeding, resulting in medium severity harm with long-term impairment of health.

Based on sufficient evidence, the school-age boy has been charged under Article 113, Part 2, Clause 6 of the RA Criminal Code (deliberately causing medium severity harm to health). As a preventive measure, he has been placed under parental supervision.

The pre-trial investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been sent to court with an accusatory conclusion.

Note: The suspect or accused in a presumed crime is considered innocent until proven guilty by a court decision that has entered into legal force in accordance with the rules established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code.
