Young Man Demands 3 Million Drams Not to Distribute Nude Photos of 17-Year-Old Girl

On January 30, a 17-year-old girl reported to the Criminal Police Chief Directorate that an unknown user from a social network had demanded 3 million drams in exchange for not sending her nude photos and videos to her friends and acquaintances. A criminal case was initiated under extortion characteristics and was sent to the investigative department of the Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts for investigation.

During the investigation, officers from the investigative department, as well as the police central division's Marash department, undertook various operational and investigative measures. As a result of months of diligent work, law enforcement officials identified the user's identity—a 22-year-old young man living in Yerevan.

Recently, Marash detectives apprehended the suspect, took him to the department, and then presented him to the investigative authorities. The young man was arrested. During a personal search, a mobile phone was discovered and seized, which contained nude videos of the girl who reported the crime. The investigation of the initiated criminal case is ongoing.
