COVID-19: Russia Develops First Medication

The Ministry of Health of Russia has approved the first medication against COVID-19, named 'Avifavir'. This was reported by РИА Новости.

'The commercial name of the drug is Avifavir, and its international name is Favipiravir,' states the records in the state register of medications.

In March, the Russian Direct Investment Fund and the ChemRar company decided to establish a joint production for the manufacturing of Favipiravir.

Clinical trials for the medication began at the end of April, and just yesterday, the producers announced that they are in the final phase of research.

According to the latest data, the new medication has shown better results compared to other medications that have been tested in Russia and other countries.
