Nine Cases of Abuse of Official Powers Disclosed in Three Days
According to summaries of operational reports from the police, from May 22 to 25, various subdivisions of the Police of the Republic of Armenia uncovered a total of 138 crimes, of which 2 were previously committed.
Specifically, the breakdown of cases includes: 35 instances of causing bodily harm, 21 of theft of personal property, 11 of fraud, 10 of domestic violence, 9 of abuse of official powers, 6 related to drug discovery, 4 cases each of theft of public-social property, threats of beatings and murder, 3 cases each of burglary, embezzlement or misappropriation, intentional destruction of property, and violence against a representative of power. Additionally, there were 2 cases each of kidnapping, seizure of weapons and ammunition, computer crime, illegal logging, and bribery; and 1 case each of robbery, terrorism, hooliganism, poaching, official forgery or negligence, obstruction of a journalist’s professional legal activities, hindering visits between a parent or close relative and a child, engaging in sexual relations with a person under 16, violating the inviolability of the home, and threats of murder and property destruction.
Three missing persons and eight wanted individuals have been identified, and five individuals have voluntarily presented themselves. There were 7 instances of voluntary surrender of weapons or ammunition.
From previously committed crimes, one case each of causing bodily harm and theft of personal property was uncovered.
During these three days, 29 road traffic incidents were recorded across the republic, resulting in 3 fatalities and 39 individuals sustaining varying degrees of bodily injuries.
