18 Communities in Shirak Suffer Damage Due to Strong Winds

In order to assess the damage caused by the strong winds of the previous day, a consultation was held today under the leadership of Shirak Governor Tigran Petrosyan, with the participation of heads of responsible structures and departments.

According to the information shared on the governor's Facebook page, it was reported that since yesterday, the governor's administration has been working to determine the extent of the damage in all communities of the region.

Preliminary data shows that 18 communities have been affected, including several settlements in the enlarged communities of Ani and Marmashen. Roofs of residential houses and auxiliary buildings have been damaged, electricity poles have toppled, and trees have been uprooted.

To study the extent of the wind damage and for final adjustments, working groups have been formed at the instruction of Tigran Petrosyan, which have traveled to the communities and will cooperate with the employees of the Emergency Situations Ministry’s Rescue Service in Shirak and the community damage assessment commissions. After clarifying the extent of the damage and obtaining a complete picture, the information will be sent to the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia.
