Major Car Accident: The Injured Are Soldiers
On May 22, a major car accident occurred in the Armavir region. Around 23:30, 26-year-old Narek M., a resident of Lenughi village, lost control of his BMW with license plate number 46 VN 046 on the Yerevan-Armavir highway at the 24 km mark. Under still unknown circumstances, the vehicle veered off the road and ended up overturned in a field.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, both the driver, Narek M., and a passenger, 29-year-old Misak M. from Vagharshapat city, sustained injuries and were transported to the Vagharshapat medical center.
Personnel from the 1st platoon of the 1st company of the 2nd police battalion arrived at the scene, led by platoon commander Grigor Poghosyan and squad commander Marlens Sargsyan. Senior investigator Narek Petrosyan directed the ongoing investigative work at the scene, during which materials pertaining to the incident are being prepared.
An operational group from the Vagharshapat police department also arrived, headed by acting department chief David Petrosyan.
According to Shamshyan's information, both the driver and the passenger serve in the Armenian Ministry of Defense's military unit N.
