Mysterious Incident: A Man's Body Found in Sevan

Today, at approximately 11:30 AM, a call was received at the 911 operational management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations regarding a man's body found at the shore of Lake Sevan, in the area of the "9th Wave" beach. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, police and emergency services personnel have been dispatched to the scene.

Authorities, including police officers, investigators, and divers, discovered the body at the site and are currently conducting investigations with a forensic doctor present. Preliminary reports suggest that the deceased may be Volodya Virabyan, a 32-year-old resident of the Kotayk province, for whom a criminal case had been initiated in Sevan's investigative division, under Part 1 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, concerning his disappearance.

Earlier, we reported that according to information from SHAMSHYAN.com, a criminal case had been opened on May 8 at the Sevan police station, under the characteristics of Article 104 (murder) of the Criminal Code. On that day, the relatives of V. Virabyan approached the Sevan police, stating that he had arrived at Sevan in a car belonging to his brother from Abovyan city, after which they had no information about his whereabouts.

On the same day, personnel from the Sevan police, led by the head of the division, Vigen Aghekyan, located the vehicle in the coastal area of the Sevan administrative district. Subsequently, with the instruction of Minister of Emergency Situations Felix Tsolakyan, search and rescue teams from the Gegharkunik regional rescue department and Sevan divers were involved; however, the search in Lake Sevan yielded no results.

Police and rescuers also found the missing person's jacket and mobile phone.
