Citizen Enters Factory with Firearm and Opens Fire; Young Man Arrested

On May 8, gunshots were reported at a stone factory on Ararat Street in Vedi city. A young man entered the factory with a firearm and fired shots at a 50-year-old man. A criminal case was initiated by the territorial investigative department on the grounds of attempted murder.

The cartridges and rounds found at the scene were seized and sent for examination. Officers from the Ararat division of the police, in cooperation with the regional administration and other units, began implementing complex operational and investigative measures. As a result of diligent work, they identified the shooter and took steps to locate him.

On May 13, Ararat police received operational intelligence that the suspect was in Ararat city. The 27-year-old man was located and taken into custody along with his vehicle. On the same day, his Mercedes was searched. A factory-numbered Makarov pistol loaded with two 9mm rounds was discovered. The detained individual has been arrested. Operational and investigative measures are ongoing in search of the firearm used in the crime.
