Home of a Resident in Berkaber Community of Tavush Province Damaged byEnemy Gunfire
On May 13, 2020, between 13:00 and 14:00, the adversary fired shots towards the houses in the Berkaber community of Tavush Province from combat positions, with the intention to unlawfully take the lives of two or more persons based on national, racial, or religious motives, in a manner dangerous to many lives. However, the crime was not completed due to circumstances beyond the control of the assailants.
The gunfire damaged the window and partition wall of one of the village's houses. An investigation of the scene was conducted, during which a 12.7mm bullet was found.
As a result of the incident, a criminal case has been initiated at the Tavush Regional Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia under Article 34-104, Part 2, Points 1, 6, and 13 of the RA Criminal Code (attempt to unlawfully take the lives of two or more persons, in a manner dangerous to many lives, on the basis of national hatred). An investigation is ongoing.
