«Virus Carriers». Unknown Individuals Attack the Home of a Coronavirus Infected Citizen in Martuni
In the Martuni community of Gegharkunik Province, unknown individuals have “attacked” the home of a citizen infected with coronavirus, vandalizing a portion of the gate and writing on the walls phrases such as “infected”, “coronavirus”, and “virus carriers”. In a conversation with Panorama.am, neighbors of the infected citizens stated that they noticed the writings in the morning, called the police, and hurriedly erased the messages from the walls.
“These people will be back in 14 days, what was the point of this? Who’s to say they won’t be infected as well? Did these people want to get infected?” lamented the neighbors.
When asked who could be behind the act, the neighbors found it difficult to specify: “They must be very ‘educated’ and ‘nice’ people.”
The mayor of Martuni, Armen Avetisyan, stated that there was no attack on the house; rather, some individuals had made several indecent remarks on the walls, but no damage was caused to the home. “The provincial police chief and my deputy were at the scene early in the morning. We have cleaned up the writings and are now checking which houses have cameras that may have captured footage so we can review the recordings and find the culprits. I reiterate, no damage was done to the house; it's simply ‘hooliganism’,” he said.
