Charges Filed Against Soldier from N Military Unit for Incident of Hooliganism in Achajur
In the administrative area of Achajur village in the Tavush region, based on sufficient evidence collected in the criminal case investigated by the 6th garrison investigative department of the military investigative main directorate of the RA Investigative Committee, a soldier from the N military unit, S. N., has been charged with committing crimes stipulated by Article 258 (hooliganism) part 4 and Article 118 (beating) of the RA Criminal Code.
The investigator has submitted a motion to the first instance court of general jurisdiction in Tavush region for S. N. to be chosen as a preventive measure of detention, which has been approved.
During the pre-trial investigation, it was decided to recognize V. K., S. K., and Yu. K. as victims in the criminal case, and they have been interrogated.
As previously reported, on May 8, 2020, around 19:30, soldier S. N. from the N military unit, along with E. E., a resident of Ijevan city and two others in military uniform whose identities have not been established, exhibited openly disrespectful behavior towards society in the vicinity of the “Green House” LLC greenhouses security post in the administrative area of Achajur village in the Tavush region. They grossly violated public order by loudly using sexually offensive insults for about 10-15 minutes, which was accompanied by using violence against V. K., S. K., and Yu. K., striking them with their hands, feet, and a shovel, causing bodily harm and damaging property, threatening with murder and destruction of property, including discharging a single shot with a firearm.
The pre-trial investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.
