Thieves Caught After Stealing from Groom's House on Wedding Day

The incident occurred months ago in the Shirak region. On March 4, shortly past midnight, a resident of the village of Garibjanyan reported to the Akhuryan police that a theft had taken place in his home a few hours earlier.

An operational group was dispatched to the scene. Law enforcement thoroughly examined the house and prepared reports. Taking advantage of the homeowners' absence, an unknown person, or perhaps persons, had opened the bedroom window using technical means and stolen a television, a mobile phone, and household items, causing material damage of about half a million drams. The indications suggested that the thieves knew exactly when and whose house they were entering.

The homeowners were attending a wedding ceremony on March 3 and were away from home between 5 PM and 11 PM, during which time the theft occurred. The circumstances hinted that it was not the work of a single individual.

Search operations commenced to uncover the crime. Instructions were issued to strengthen the cooperation between the criminal investigation and community police departments and to enhance engagement with the villagers to manage the operational situation more effectively.

Months later, information was received that the residential theft had been committed by three young men from Gyumri. On May 6, the suspects were taken to the Akhuryan police station. Further investigations revealed that on April 27, they had also stolen five beehives in the village of Akhuryan. One of the detained individuals has been arrested. The circumstances of the case are still being clarified, and some of the stolen items have been recovered. The preliminary investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.
