Aronian Claims First Victory in FIDE Online Nations Cup

Leading Armenian chess player Levon Aronian has secured his first victory in the FIDE Online Nations Cup. In the third round, the European team competed against India.

Aronian triumphed with the white pieces against Gujarat's Vidit. The European team won the match with a score of 2.5 to 1.5. Meanwhile, the Chinese national team played to a draw against the Russians, and the USA team defeated the rest of the world team with a score of 2.5 to 1.5.

Currently, the leaders are China and the USA, both having earned 5 points. The European team is in third place with 3 points. On May 10, the two best teams will compete in the superfinal. The prize fund amounts to $180,000.
