Neighbors Shocked by Incident: Details on the Tragic Event that Occurred This Morning

The neighborhood in the Malatia-Sebastia community of Yerevan is shocked and surprised by the tragic event that took place today, May 5. According to preliminary information, a 40-year-old father threw himself and his two children from the 9th floor this morning. Neighbors describe the family as calm and normal. Reports indicate that they had no knowledge of the parents being divorced.

They have lived in the building for a long time and neighbors have not heard of any psychological issues concerning the man. One neighbor mentioned, “If that were the case, how could he serve?” hinting at the man's previous service as an officer in Russia.

At the moment, neighbors have gathered in the yard of the building and have informed the media that they saw the father exercising with his children in the yard just two days ago. They have no information on the whereabouts of the children’s mother.

Previously, it was reported that on May 5 at 08:06, the Crisis Management National Center received a call regarding a resident of building number 91 in the B2 district of Yerevan who had thrown a child from the 9th floor and then followed by throwing himself with the other child.

The police and rescuers found the bodies of Karen M., 40, as well as his 8-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter at the scene.
