Identity of Individual Responsible for Gunshot Wound to Saritakh Resident Established
On May 1, 2020, at 12:40 PM, "Erebuni" Medical Center reported that a 32-year-old resident of Saritakh, Yerevan, had come in for treatment with a preliminary diagnosis of a gunshot wound to the right thigh.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 235 (Illegally acquiring, selling, possessing, transporting, or carrying weapons, military supplies, explosives, or explosive devices) and Article 258 (Hooliganism) of the RA Criminal Code, which has been received by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia's Yerevan Investigation Department and is currently under investigation.
It has been established that at approximately 12:00 PM on May 1, 2020, an individual who committed the apparent crime fired shots from a pistol at the 32-year-old man on 28th Street of Saritakh, causing bodily harm, after which the perpetrator fled the scene.
Through investigative actions and operational-search measures, the identity of the individual who committed the apparent crime has been determined, revealing that he is a 39-year-old resident of Yerevan.
A series of investigative actions were conducted, including a forensic examination of the crime scene, where one fired cartridge and traces of a blood-like substance were discovered. Witnesses were interviewed, items were seized, and a photo identification investigative action was conducted. Forensic medical and forensic examinations have been commissioned.
The prosecuting authority has made a decision to arrest the aforementioned individual, with the execution assigned to the appropriate division of the RA Police. The pre-investigation continues, with necessary investigative actions and operational-search measures being undertaken to clarify all circumstances of the incident and to conduct a comprehensive, objective, and complete investigation.
