Burglary of Over 13 Million Drams Discovered in Vagharshapat

On April 29, police officers from the Vagharshapat division revealed a case of residential burglary. A report had been received on June 28, 2018, indicating that the entry door of a house on Romanos Melikyan Street in Echmiadzin had been opened using technical means, and various items had been stolen, including a legal hunting rifle, wallets, bank cards, watches, cash, jewelry, etc.

According to the preliminary estimate, the victim suffered damage exceeding 13 million drams, a particularly large amount. A criminal case was initiated in the territorial investigative department, and in this context, detectives from Vagharshapat undertook numerous operational measures.

After considerable work on the case, progress was made due to persistence. A 23-year-old resident of Echmiadzin came under suspicion for the residential burglary, was located, and taken to the Vagharshapat police station. Upon search, he was found in possession of a substance suspected to be marijuana and a used syringe.

The young man was presented to the investigative body and arrested. Charges have been filed against him. As a result of further operational-investigative measures and investigative actions, some of the stolen items were recovered. Efforts to recover the remaining stolen goods and the investigation of the opened criminal case are ongoing.
