UAZ Rolls Down a Gorge Near Sanahin, Driver Dead
On April 28, at 09:45, the National Crisis Management Center received information that a car was burning on the road leading from the Sanahin neighborhood of Alaverdi to a nearby mountain, and there was a body inside the vehicle.
A firefighting unit from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that the UAZ vehicle (driver: Aram E., born in 1990) had left the roadway and rolled approximately 150 meters down a gorge before catching fire; the driver died on the spot.
Before the arrival of the rescuers, the passengers were removed by local forces and hospitalized at Alaverdi Medical Center. The fire was extinguished at 10:35. The vehicle was completely burnt.
