Extrreme Incident in Ararat Province: Wolf Predates 13 Ewes, Several Injured

Today, April 28, an extraordinary incident occurred in Ararat Province. At around 06:30, Roland Mkrtchyan, a resident of Bardzragashen village, entered the barn next to his house as usual and discovered that 13 of his ewes had died, and 3 others were injured, reports shamshyan.com.

In an interview with photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, R. Mkrtchyan said, "I came in the morning to start taking care of my sheep and lambs, and suddenly I saw that the sheep were lying dead in different areas. It is clear that a wolf has attacked; it's the first case in 20 years that a wolf has entered the village. There have been such incidents in the mountains. I have taken out a loan and we have been raising 7 sheep in our family. We were supposed to pay off the loan in the summer. The painful thing is that all the dead sheep are ewes, and I don't know what I will do to feed their lambs. I am grateful to the village chief, the regional administration, and the firefighters of Ararat Province; they responded promptly and did everything they could. I ask Governor Garik Sargsyan to help us, as much as possible, so that we can resolve some issues."
