Over 20 Trees Illegally Cut Down in Two Days

Police officers from the Gugark division have received information that a 61-year-old resident of Yeghegnut village has been illegally cutting down trees in the administrative area. After verifying the authenticity of the information, the suspect was taken in for questioning at the Gugark police station on April 22 at around 1:30 PM.

The police report indicates that in November 2019, the individual illegally cut down over 25 trees of various species and diameters using a chainsaw over two consecutive days in the outskirts of Yeghegnut village. According to the suspect, part of the timber was sold two months ago, while the rest was taken away by logging workers about 10 days ago.

The circumstances are currently being clarified, and the extent of the damage is being determined. Relevant materials are being prepared regarding the case.
